John Pearson (judge)

The Hon. Sir John Pearson, QC (1820-1886) was a justice of the High Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division, since 1882, member of Council of Legal Education, M.A., studied at Gonville and Caius College Cambridge, 1844, a student of Lincoln's Inn 3 June 1841.
The eldest son of the Rev. John Norman Pearson and the brother of Charles Henry Pearson, he married Charlotte Augusta Short, daughter of Rev. William Short, late rector of St. George's, Bloomsbury, on 21 December 1854.
John Pearson was knighted on 30 November 1882, was called to the bar 11 June 1844, became Q.C. on 15 December 1866, bencher on 11 January 1867, and was Treasurer from 1884-85. He is buried with his brother, Charles at London's Brompton Cemetery.
